Week 10: Play

I enjoyed Free Rice, Xtranormal and Jackson Pollack the most.

Week 9: Ebooks and Skillsoft

I have had quite a bit of experience with ebooks as a collection development librarian.  Students are very pleased that we are trying to buy more books in this format.
I have taken several classes in Skillsoft on Sexual Harassment and Security.

Week 8: IGoogle and Firefox

I was able to customize my google page. I selected Dilbert background and gagets for CNN, Cooking Light, Weather and Time.  I was also able to customize my Firefox homepage and get rid of some of the applications I never use.

Week 7: Delicious and Library Thing

I registered at Delicious and created a stack of my favorite knitting links:http://delicious.com/stacks/view/F6KK17
I created an account at Library Thing http://www.librarything.com/catalog/nmcarbon
and listed 5 books English Literature book I want to read or read again.  This will be a handy personal reading wish list.  I like the way it can also be used as a reader's advisory by putting in subjects.

Week 6, YouTube, Screencasts and Podcasts

My favorite YouTube site is an Indian Cooking Show that has been created on YouTube called Show Me the Curry:  http://showmethecurry.com/
I like this video of a cat chasing a bear: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/57VbE0J9niw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I created this screencast on concordances with Karen's help.  Thanks, Karen! http://www.screencast.com/t/XLarMMx3uXI
I located some podcasts on Hawaiian Local cooking here http://www.808talk.com/2006/03/26/808talk-episode-44-local-kine-foodrecipes/

Week 5, Social Networking

I have had a Facebook account for sometime and mainly use it to share photos with my brothers and sisters.  I have found several childhood friends via Facebook.  I staff the library's IM/Chat feature each week and also use IM to contact my teenagers when I can't reach them by phone.  I established a Twitter account and tweeted Show Me the Curry and am following the Dalai Lama.

Week 4: RSS feeds

I added the following RSS feed from Epicurious.com http://www.epicurious.com/services/rss
to my outlook account:
